The Stereo Hopeful began as a duo, when singer/guitarist Bryan DeBaets started playing with his good friend and drummer, Jason Field. Bryan had songs from as far back as 2002, some written by singer/songwriter Kenny Matthews, that he performed at venues throughout the Southwestern U.S. In November 2018, The Stereo Hopeful was booked for a charity show that would become the first in a string of regular gigs around the central San Joaquin Valley. The lineup for this show included long-time friend Adrian Oceguera on bass. Since that show, some has changed, including The Stereo Hopeful lineup, to welcome drummer Austin “AK Cool”.
From day one, the goal of this project has been to connect with musicians and listeners alike. The Stereo Hopeful comes from a desire that we all have… to be surrounded by folks who are rooting for us and supporting us in our passions. Life is hard. The only thing that makes it worth living is the chance we have to make someone else happy. We believe that positivity is more than a mindset, it’s a way of life.
